Are people making it an occupation to have more and more children to get tax credits etc?
It seems to me that Labour are encouraging people to produce more children by giving them tax credits and higher child benefits to the detriment of the single tax payer. Do we really want to keep other people's offspring, if they can't afford them they shouldn't have them in my opinion.

Now that Cameron wants to do a deal with Clegg,what do you think it will mean for people receiving tax credits?
in particular child tax credit. my husband is receiving DLA and Incapacity Benefit and I receive Child Tax Credit and Child benefit and I also receive an allowance as his carer. Obviously as a household we're receiving less than £10,000 pa. How will Cameron/Clegg's 'possible' Tax Credit change effect us?

would like to ask a question to people in uk about child benefit?
I was told today that from the 2nd November 2009 child benefit will no longer be deducted from other benefit ie- income support or working tax credits that it is now not taken into consideration any more. has any one else heard of this.

Why should people without children subsidise those who breed like rabbits?
Many people have large families and the government throws money at them every time they produce another sprog. Some families get over £35,000 a year in benefits...paid for by ordinary tax payers. family allowance, or child benefit or whatever it's called now should only be given for the first two children. I'm sure the 'breed like rabbits' brigade would learn to read the instructions on a pack of condoms if they knew that they would have to pay for their own children and not expect others to. We have lost our 'married man's allowance' in order to give more to the prolific breeders. if people want more than 2 children, fine but why do we have to pay for them?
I'd like a brand new Ferrari, but as I can't afford one, I live without. The same should be true for children. There should be a box to tick on your tax-form asking whether you'd like your hard earned tax to go towards subsidising people who can't be bothered to use contraception...my answer would be a resounding NO!!
Coelho....you misunderstand me, I mean that this country gives money away for every child a family has...if a family has 15 children, they get 15x the money.
We have to pay for them...

All you people who get Child Benefit and don’t will you donate it to someone who does need it need it?
I think this benefit should be stopped for anyone who earns over £25k per year that would save the country a fortune. Currently EVERYONE gets this if they have children even those who are living in stately homes!

If you want kids - you should have enough money to bring them up without stupid ammounts of handouts - yet again I really don't believe any of it is used for the kids - sky, lotto, fags and croc shoes along with lots of Mc Meals instead of Sunday Lunch
Update _ Nothing is owed to you if you have paid your taxes or even worse that you havent even paid taxes cos your too lazy to get a job. In relation to when Im old, I will have to pay for the care, as its not free unless you have lived off the state for your entire life. Why do people on high incomes get child benefits?
I just wondered why if you are on a a high income why would you need it.Maybe it would be better if if it was to go on the nhs or to children who need help in schools.
