If I don’t repay an overpayment of Child Benefit, can the CB Office stop my husband’s Incapacity Benefit?

If I don't repay an overpayment of Child Benefit as I've been asked, and I can't manage to get the decision changed, are the Child Benefit office able to take the money out of my husband's benefits - Incapacity Benefit (for himself only), Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit?

invitation to office interview letter from job centre plus?

recieved a letter yesterday addressed from a different jobcentre not local one were interview is to take place as follows...

how long does it take home office to make a dicsion on asylum aplication?

if you are on immgration control and have a child with a british birth certficate why is that you can not claim benefits. As an asylum seeker and still wating for a dicsion to be made why is it you can not work or claim benefits how are you supposed to survive especialy with a under 2years old baby

A chavette walks into the DSS office?

pushing a huge pushchair crammed with babies

"I've just had sextuplets, like" she tells the man behind the desk. "And I wanna claim extra child benefit for em you knaa wha I mean?"

The desk clerk takes out a sheaf of forms and starting filling them in, as the chavvette puffs on her fa.g, fiddles with her huge gold hoops and adjusts her Chelsea facelift.

"Well can you tell me the names of the children" he asks politely

Chavette stamps out her f.ag, grinding it into the carpet, and exhales a cloud of smoke

"Well thats Tyrone" (she points to one ugly, wailing sprog), "next to him is Tyrone. Then there's Tyrone, Tyrone, Tyrone and the lil one on the end is Tyrone."

The clerk looks at her in amazement. "You called them ALL Tyrone?" he asks incredulously, "but how do you tell them apart"?

Chavette beams with pride "Oh tha's easy!" she declares "I call 'em all by their fathers' surnames innit??!?

do i have do declare housing benefit to the child tax credit office?

I have not got the housing benefit yet but i not sure if i have to tel the tax credit people about it, the council know how much child tax credits i get but they didn't say that i had to tell the tax credits about any housing benefit i may receive i don't want to get into any trouble does any one know

Can i take the Child Benefit Office to court ?

My wife agreed to let me be the fulltime career of our two children. At the begining of September last year i sent in an application to have the child benefit changed from her name into mine which she agreed as i wasn't working.

I havnt herd from them at all regarding anymore information and everytime i phoned up they told me that because there was a rival claim that the department it had been passed to could take upto 16 weeks to sort out.

16 weeks ended on the fourth of january 2010 and since then i have been put on nothing but 5 day call backs and still herd nothing. i in November filled out there complaints policy procedure and i never recieved any conformation from them that they recieved it.

With out the child benefit number i am unable to apply for anything else. my cchildren are the ages of 5 and 3 and i have had to move in with my parents temporarely untill it gets sorted.

I have had to beg borrow and steel from my family and thats without the 5 months of bills i havn't been able to pay.

I am a sufferer of depression, and it has taken a huge effect on me and no matter how hard i try to explain to the CHB about the situation i'm in all i get is "everyone is BUSY or everyone is PRIORITY.

I am now at the point where my parents are now unable to continue supporting me as it has hit them finacially too. Can anyine give me some advice please
