My parent was receiving Child Benefits (UK), do my free prescriptions stop straight away aswell?
I was on an apprenticeship, which is technically classed as full-time education. I have now finished my course, but it's now about half way through the school year. My Mum called up and cancelled my child benefits, do my free prescriptions and eyetests and discounts for glasses stop immediately?
Some people have been telling me that I'm still entitled to these discounts and freebies until the end of the school year, as I haven't received my qualification yet. Is this right?
And would I really get caught if I pretended to be in education, do they check?
What would the penalty be, just to pay back the cost of the prescriptions?
