Regarding UK London tube strike. Why doesnt everyone form a union then can get final salary pensions back?
To those saying well people get made redundant and have lost their final salary pensions but you don’t see us going on strike.
WELL DUMBASS WHY YOU LOST THE PENSION AND COLLEGUES LOST THEIR JOBS.
If you all formed unions not only would you get job security and could force the return of your pensions from the fat cat bonuses. AND YOUR COLLEGUES GET THEIR JOBS BACK.
You could end the long hour’s culture so people have less stress, see children more, less youth crime. More employed so less unemployed. Less crime. A far better society where instead of competitive office politics people look after each other in communities with the return of sympathetic strike action to support others. Better wages collectively bargained and pay openness would lower debt and bring wages in line with house price rises.
Export unionisation to the third world, improve their pay, job security and conditions = less economic and illegal immigration. And fewer jobs going abroad so bosses could get away with Dickensian near slave labour conditions. With more job security criminals running sweatshops have less power too. As unions inspect their companies.
All benefit bar fat cats and sweat shop slave traffickers who love all the idiots fighting and complaining about strikers. Divide and conquer. Bosses should fear workers. It makes them better bosses at running things for everyone’s benefit.
To those saying sack the tube workers & employ new staff for less. Who does that benefit? Not the public as then other bosses think they can do that to loyal employees and less job security.
Or would you rather bosses being able to force your daughters to give sexual services to keep their jobs as that’s the other end of it.

If you work 20hrs a week, are you entitled to any form of housing benefit?
My friend and I have been in debate about this and we cannot find detailed information on the net. She has been struggling to find full time work and the only jobs going in our area are around the 20hrs a week mark. She has accepted a Job at £5.80/hr on a 20hr week. This is not enough for her to pay rent of £550/month and live on.
Is she entitled to government support? She has no children, 23years old and single.
She thinks that if you work under 16hrs you are entitled to help but anything over you are not entitled to anything... I can't believe this is true... is it?
Surely working at something is better than not working at all and recieving full benefits?
Thanx

I’m 16 at Sixth Form – if I get a job, will my parents lose my child benefits?
I'm 16, so am required to pay tax if I earn over £6000.
However, because I'm at sixth form so am still in full time education, my parents are still receiving child benefit support for me.
My question is: if I get a job this summer, the Inland Revenue will know that I am employed. Does this mean that they will reduce my parents' child benefit support?
Thanks
Thanks for your answers so far.
In addition to my question... if they won't lose the benefits, do you think they will be reduced?
Thanks
