I would like to sponsor my spouse in Canada. Does collecting child tax benefit considered as part of social?
assistance? Because on the application quide, they said that if you a Landed immigrate, you are not qualify to sponsor your spouse if you collect social assistance from the goverment. Can some one help me with some examples of social assistance benefit because, I am confused and don't know what government assistance to use because I don't want to be a victim since i intend to sponsor my husband. Any information will help . I just became a permanent resident of Canada one month ago. I have two children. How soon can i apply for the child tax benefit if incase it is not a social assistance

No it is not consider social assistance. That would be welfare or disability payments directly from the govt.
