Eight months after pplication and child benefit has not been paid yet.Why does it take so much time?
What is the avarage waiting time for child benefit to be paid after application is lodged?
This is in the UK.
i had the same problem when my daughter was born 7 months ago, i didnt get it till she was 5 months old they kept saying they havent got the right info when the did, so what i done i phoned them up and asked to speak to the person in charge ie manager and told them i had enought of waiting and i wanted it sorted out there and then instead of them messing around and a couple days later i got my money in my account, child benifet normally takes 8 weeks to get sorted, so phone them up and demand that you want to speak to the person in charge and dont budge till u get what you want, if not you will be waiting till your child reaches 1. i hope this is usefull. when u phone them up make them repeat all the imfo they have for you just in case they haven got the right info. hopes this helps good luck

Are you in Canada? It took 3 months to get my child tax benefit to start. I would contact whoever you sent it to to make sure they have received it.

Days. Sorry you’ve been waiting so long.
I would get on the phone to them and ask them if they’ve got your application – I bet you £5 they’ve not received it – which in government terms really means they’ve lost your documents. It’s a common occurance with our organised government.
I feel for you, I have been through their shite system for too feckin long how and they’re just useless. It makes me so angry.

Took us about 2 weeks I think, certainly no longer than a month.
You should most definately call them and see whats happening.

Eight months!? Are you sure your application has been received??
My son’s child benefit took around 3 weeks to come through.
