Can my Wife sign the Child benefit over to me?
I have Split from my wife over two years now but we are not divorced and my son (14 years) is with me most of the time, he wants to come and live with me on a permanent basics and my wife has agreed to this, but as we all know, looking after children is far from cheap, what I need is advice on how does my wife sign the child benefit over to me, once this is done I will be able to claim child tax credit to also help me out..
Just file the divorce while in possession of the child. You get the tax deduction.
If you want to learn how to do all this go to Dads House in Yahoo Groups. There's an educational manual in the file section that can teach you what you need to know. The organization it came from is defunct due to attorneys that tried to take it over and make money from it.
Take the time to learn what you can and should do.

What is child benefit? is this something your getting from the Sate or federal government?
If it is, they will re evaluate your income for this type of help and she would be, by law, needing to pay you child support.
