Take what evidence you can.
It’s a normal process just based upon time.
Where I work we had 3 court summons for non payment of council tax for land we had nothing to do with.
They agreed the company had nothing to do with the area.
That’s after an agreement was drawn up, all stopped by the council.
The state machinery is just rubbish.

A Compliance Officer is another name for a Fraud Investigation Officer. It could be that somebody has reported you for something so be prepared for that.

someone has reported you for having a partner who is working part time while you are claiming the single parent benefit with three children, you will have to prove to them that you do not have a partner staying with you and no one else is contributing to your household income. good luck.

You do not have to prove anything. The onus for the burden of proof lies with the DWP and does not shift until that has happened. It’s most probably some nosey power pompus t**t that has made an assumption and alledged you to be a benefit fraudster. What they don’t tell you, is that, if the case goes further to an official proceeding (i.e to court) they have a duty to disclose any evidence which may also reveal the identity of the supplier. So when they tell the informant “dont worry all your details are confidential” don’t be so sure…
