SSDI and medicaid benefits for child if I get married?
December 26th, 2009We are planning to have a civil ceremony (no legal papers signed) in aug 2009. I plan to change my name and hopefully my daughters also. Will she lose her SSDI benefits and her medicaid? Because she has been deemed disabled, I know that she has her own separate case independent from me, but as her legal guardian will any of this change her benefits? We live in Colorado
It will not affect her SSDI as this is based solely on her disability and her and her employers contributions to Social Security. It’s possible that her medicaid could be affected if she lives with you and your new husband, since it is household income that is counted. If she lives on her own, it would have no affect.

They are not the same. Everyone who has children no matter how rich or poor they are get this child tax benefit. Think of it as a government incentive to make babies so we don’t need to rely so heavily on immigration. Of course everything is always open to abuse.
If I receive SSI benefits, can my child receive benefits because I do?
December 21st, 2009I know someone that is receiving SSI disability and tried to get it for her children and they told her she could not. I know someone else that receives SSI disability for the same exact reason and they told her, her child could receive it. How is this right?
You know that is exactly what I said about another ghetto **** trying to get free hand outs, which is why I posted this question and said how is this right. Because the first person I spoke of is of color and they told her she could not receive benefits for her children, and the one trying to get the free hand out that they said could get benefits for her child is not of color, so how about that?
In most cases the child gets SSI until 18, I know when my stepfather passed away all the children got or still gets it… mine stop at 18. Check in with your case worker.

Because on the application quide, they said that if you a Landed immigrate, you are not qualify to sponsor your spouse if you collect social assistance from the goverment. Can some one help me with some examples of social assistance benefit because, I am confused and don’t know what government assistance to use because I don’t want to be a victim since i intend to sponsor my husband.
